The VS1200 is an EDM machine developed for CDM Rovella as an evolution of the VS800 platform, with the aim of expanding the range while maintaining a consistent design language. As a "big sister," the project required a strong family feeling while introducing a distinctive element capable of characterizing the model.

 

The VS1200 is a project in which production constraints and formal language coincide. The machine's width exceeds that of commercial sheet metal machines, making the use of a single front panel inefficient and introducing critical issues in terms of costs, time, and surface quality. The project therefore starts from this limitation, without trying to hide it.

The front is defined by two distinct elements, the separation of which becomes an integral part of the design. The diagonal cut, repeated by the blue line, organizes the elevation and introduces a visual rhythm consistent with the range's language. In this way, a technical necessity translates into a recognizable sign, giving the product its identity.
