vs800 plus
The VS800+ is an EDM machine developed for CDM Rovella as part of a broader evolution of the product range toward a more structured and recognizable design language. Building on the original VS800, it introduces a modular and scalable approach with a 30-position rotary tool magazine, increasing operational flexibility and production efficiency.
The project focuses on a clear articulation of volumes and functions, where formal decisions stem directly from the technical structure and assembly constraints. The machine is divided into well-defined areas, further emphasized through the use of color: black for the working zone, chosen to minimize the visual impact of dirt and wear, and grey for the bodywork, in line with the brand's new coordinated visual identity. The head unit, highlighted in white, stands out from the main silhouette and lightens the overall perception of the machine, while a blue line cuts across the body like a incision, hinting at the internal structure beneath.

The presence of the tool magazine and its components drove the development of a deliberately asymmetric yet balanced design, in which every formal decision is justified by the function and placement of the technical elements. In this sense, the visual language is built from the mechanics outward, maintaining consistency across proportions, angles, and surfaces.
The integration of components developed through additive manufacturing, in collaboration with Hyle Project, also made it possible to optimize certain parts by introducing complex geometries and reducing traditional production constraints.
The VS800+ represents a synthesis of design and engineering, where modularity, manufacturability, and visual identity converge into a coherent product.
