Series 808
The project originated from a collaboration with Willemin-Macodel, a Swiss manufacturer of high-precision machining centers, to define the design of the Series 808, a new platform for compact, high-tech machine tools. At the same time, the project represents an evolution of the range's established formal language, carrying its distinctive traits into a new product generation. The work therefore did not focus on the single 808S2, but on defining a formal architecture capable of accommodating different configurations within a shared identity. The 808S2 is the first variant of the series, while the 808MT2 reuses the same body, adding a lateral extension required by the machine's different configuration. The project was developed in close collaboration with the engineering department, integrating functional requirements, access and maintenance constraints, and the need to keep the platform's different evolutions consistent from the earliest stages.

The Series 808 packs a high level of technology into an extremely compact footprint, with a floor space of just 1.4 m² for the 808S2. Giving presence and formal rigor to such compact volumes was one of the central points of the project. The panel system was developed to organize the machine's complexity through a clear visual hierarchy, balancing the legibility of individual parts, the continuity of surfaces, and the recognizability of the whole. One of its most distinctive elements is the triangle that detaches from the housing as an autonomous, distinctive mark. Backlit by an LED strip, its behavior changes according to the machine's operating status, turning a formal element into an immediate visual interface, readable even from a distance.

Before the official launch, the Series 808 was presented through a VR experience developed and run by Trepunti for the WM Tech Days. Visitors could explore the machine in preview and interact with its main access points, giving the company the opportunity to collect feedback ahead of the public presentation. In 2026, the project was showcased on the international trade show circuit, from the world premiere of the 808S2 at SIAMS in Moutier to the subsequent presentation of the 808MT2 at EPHJ in Geneva.
